Privacy policy
Last updated 18 October 2026. Applies to every Emmada Studio app and to this website.
The short version: our apps collect nothing about you or your child. No accounts, no ads,
no tracking, no third-party code. The apps do send us a few anonymous usage counts (how many
rounds were played, whether anything broke) so we can fix what breaks and see which games get played. There is
no identifier of any kind in those counts, and a grown-up can switch them off in the app's settings.
Our apps
- No personal information. Our apps don't ask for a name, an email address, a photo, a
location, or anything else about you or your child. Child profiles in a game are a picture of an animal and
a level, kept on the device.
- No ads, no tracking, no third-party code. There is no advertising, no advertising ID, no
tracking across apps or sites, no social features, and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting service
in our apps. The only code in them is ours.
- Anonymous usage counts. When an app is opened and when it is put away, it sends a small
message to our own server, if the device is online. Exactly what is in it:
- which app and version, the platform (iPhone/iPad or Android), the operating system's major version,
and the language the device is set to;
- whether this is the app's first open ever on this device, its first open today, and its first open
this month (that is how we count daily and monthly players without an identifier), and how many days ago
it was installed;
- for a session: how long it lasted, rounded to ten seconds; how many questions were answered, missed and
helped with; how many rounds were finished; which game modes and levels were played; which screen the app
was left on; and the first three error messages the app ran into, if any;
- a few settings and facts about the app: how many child profiles exist, and whether the voice, Calm
mode and similar switches are on.
What is never in it: names, email addresses, any user, device, advertising or install ID,
the device model, your IP address (our server does not keep it), precise times, or anything a child typed or
said, or where in the world it came from. We keep these counts for about
13 months and then delete them. We use them for one thing: understanding how our apps are used and where
they break, so we can improve them. They are never sold, shared or used for advertising.
- Switching it off. In the app's grown-up settings (behind the gate), turn off
Share anonymous usage. Nothing is sent after that, and anything waiting to be sent is discarded.
Children can't reach this switch.
- Reporting a problem. The grown-up settings have a Report a problem button. It
opens your mail app with an email to us, prefilled with the app's version, the operating system, and the
app's last few steps (such as "round started, question answered, error…"). Nothing is sent until you tap
Send, and you can read and edit everything first.
- No network otherwise. The apps work fully offline. Apart from the counts above, they make
no network requests. Everything, including the recorded narration, is bundled in the app.
- Progress stays on the device. Levels, stars and stickers are saved on the device only. If
you delete the app, they're gone. We can't see them, and we can't restore them.
- Purchases. Some apps offer one optional one-time purchase. It's handled entirely by Apple
or Google under their terms. We don't receive your payment details, and the app keeps no record beyond
"unlocked". Purchases sit behind a grown-ups gate (a sum written in words) so a child can't make one.
- Children. Our apps are made for children under 13. They collect no personal information
from anyone, and the anonymous counts above contain no persistent identifier, which keeps us within COPPA and
similar laws. There are no social features, no way to contact other people, and no links out of the app that
a child can reach: the privacy and support links, and the email button, are behind the grown-ups gate.
- Store labels. On the App Store the apps' privacy label says Data Not Linked to You:
Usage Data, Diagnostics, and Google Play's Data safety section says the same: app interactions and crash
logs, collected, not shared, optional.
- Microphone, camera, contacts. Not used, and the apps don't ask for permission to use them.
If a future feature needs the microphone (a grown-up recording their own voice for the narration), the app
will ask first, the recording will stay on the device, and this policy will say so.
This website
- emmada.dev is a static site: no accounts, no cookies set by us, no analytics script.
- It runs on our own server, rented from Hostinger. The web server keeps no log of visits (no IP addresses,
no list of pages requested). The apps' anonymous counts go to the same server. Our domain's DNS is run by
Cloudflare, which answers the lookups but never sees the pages or the counts.
- If you email us, we keep your email so we can answer it, and nothing else. We never add you to a list
without asking.
Changes
If an app ever starts to send anything beyond what is listed above, this page will say what, why, and how to
opt out, before the app does it. The date at the top changes when the policy does.
